A New 'Do

Friday, December 7, 2012

It was a slower day at work today which meant my coworker had time to do my hair!  Now I'm not sure if you've noticed by now, but about 95% of the time, my hair is super curly and often times pretty frizzy.  So when my hair is anything but that, I feel it's my duty to document it.

It was originally curled around the front like in the picture above, but a few hours after I got home, the curls fell out and became almost pin straight, despite the fact that I had about half a can of hairspray in!

And then I did this.

I feel so much more confident with straight hair (above picture excepted), I don't know what it is!  I definitely think I'll be investing in a proper hair dryer soon and blowing it out more often.  It's funny, I always feel like my hair is super short; and then I straighten it.

What do you think, straight or curly?

  3. WOW! The straight hair looks so pretty! I love it! I may be a little biased, but I love the curls more. Your curly hair gives you the versatility to do stuff like this. Either way, your hair looks amazing :-)

    1. I figured you'd like the curls more ;) And after living with straight hair in rainy weather for one day, I can't agree with you more. x

    1. Thank you! In the first picture it's Aveda's Nourish-mint lip color in 907 Wild Fuschia from the Passion Flower collection, and, in the other two, it's the Korres lip butter in Pomegranate. x

  7. WOW! Your hair looks beautiful - because you are - both straight and curly. I like the look "And then I did this." I like changing my hair from straight to wavy depending on my mood. But it's hard to get it wavy. Any ideas?

    1. If your hair has a bit of a natural wave to it when it's wet, all you need is a nice curl enhancing cream or gel, and a spray (Aveda do a Curly style prep product, and I personally recommend John Frieda's Dream Curls spray) which you'll apply after you've washed your hair and it's still wet. You can't brush through a curl or a wave when it's damp or dry because you'll ruin the curl pattern and create frizz. After applying the product(s), either blow dry with a diffuser attachment, or let it air dry if you have the time. Hope that helps! x

  8. I used to have problems with my hair dropping! I don't know if this will help but I find if you make sure your hair is cold (I mean after blowdrying or straightening aha) before you curl it is will last a hell of a lot longer! The John Frieda Moisture Barrier hairspray is great for keeping curls too, so long as you don't mind the feel of hairspray! Great post! Love the lipstick, what is it?
